How to Make Cut and Paste Matching Workshop

Equipment to be prepared

Thick paper (e.g. photopaper, card paper) so that the cut-out body does not tear easily

Printer

Scissors For Cutting

Glue for paste

Making steps

Work leaf design:

Top: Draw a desired backdrop, such as a farm, zoo or underwater, and leave a blank space for children to paste the correct image.

Bottom Section: Draw various pictures to be paired with the top blanks. These pictures should be the size and shape that fit the designed blanks.

Print worksheet:

Print the designed work leaves on thick paper to make it easy to cut and paste.

Get the worksheet ready to use:

Use scissors to cut the top and bottom parts of the work leaf apart, following the designed perforation.

In the lower part, cut each picture into pieces (Be careful not to be too small for young children).

How to play with children:

Let the children use scissors that are suitable for children (with rounded ends) to cut out the lower part of the picture first (this step helps to train the hand muscles well).

Then let the children see if each picture matches the gap (shadow) in the scene above.

Once you find the correct match, add the glue to the blank.
