Is the litter type comfortable for them? Some cats prefer unscented, finer grains. And location matters – too noisy, too high-traffic, or too close to their food and water can make them avoid it. I’ve learned that having multiple litter boxes (one more than the number of cats you have) can also make a huge difference, especially in multi-cat households. For my 'cat snake,' sometimes it's simply a protest if I've been away too long or changed their routine. Cleaning up after these 'povinme cats' incidents is crucial, especially to prevent repeat offenses. Regular soap and water won't cut it for cat urine or feces; you need an enzymatic cleaner. It's a bit of a process, but it saves your furniture and sanity! And then there’s the dreaded cat bath! For some cats, it’s a spa day; for mine, it’s a wrestling match with a 'snake' that suddenly has claws. If you find yourself needing to give your 'cat snake' a bath, preparation is key. Trim their claws beforehand if you can. Brush them thoroughly to remove loose fur. Use lukewarm water and cat-specific shampoo – never human shampoo. A non-slip mat in the tub helps them feel more secure. I usually have a few towels ready, and sometimes a second person to help hold them gently. Speak calmly, work quickly, and rinse thoroughly to avoid skin irritation. And always have a treat ready for afterwards!
