BBC Book Review: The Neighbor Favor

I did a review on book 2 I forgot to post my review on book 1, The Neighbor Favor. This one focuses on the youngest sister Lily Greene.

I really enjoyed hearing the story from both character perspectives. I was completely thrown off at the beginning being just emails but clearly it was a very important part of the story and not to be skipped. Nick adored lily and I thought it was the sweetest thing ever! I also loved how we are introduced to each sister a little bit and their worlds. 4/5

... Read moreHey fellow readers! You might have seen 'The Neighbor Favor' pop up on your radar, and trust me, it's a book worth talking about. As someone who's always on the hunt for a heartwarming read, I can confirm Kristina Forest absolutely delivered with this one. Forget any confusion about 'BBC neighbor' reviews – this is about a delightful contemporary romance that completely stole my heart! So, what's 'The Neighbor Favor' all about? Imagine you have a crush on your long-distance pen pal, only to discover he's your quiet new neighbor! That's Lily Greene's delightful dilemma. The tension and charm of this 'friends-to-lovers' and 'neighbor romance' trope are exquisitely written. Kristina Forest really knows how to build anticipation. One of my absolute favorite aspects, and something I wanted to share more about, was the brilliant use of dual perspectives. Getting into both Lily's head and Nick's thoughts made their connection feel so real and intimate. And the emails! Oh my goodness, those initial email exchanges between the two were not just a cute plot device; they truly laid the foundation for their deep emotional bond. It felt almost like watching their relationship grow in slow motion, which made their in-person interactions even more impactful. You really get to see how 'LOVE WAS CLOSER THAN THEY KNEW' right from the start. Speaking of Nick, his adoration for Lily? It’s truly swoon-worthy! He's just the right amount of thoughtful and protective, making you root for them from page one. Lily, with her quirky interests and quiet strength, is such a relatable heroine. Their dynamic felt authentic, not forced, which is crucial for any romance novel. I also loved how Kristina Forest skillfully weaves in glimpses of Lily's sisters. It’s not just about Lily; you get a sense of a bigger family world, which is something I always appreciate in a series. It makes you want to dive into the other books just to see what they're up to! If you’re like me and always searching for 'books like The Neighbor Favor' or stories with that 'familiar new neighbor' vibe, this one is a must-add to your 'Baddie Book Club' list! It’s got that cozy, feel-good romance that leaves you smiling long after you've turned the last page. It reminded me a bit of some of my favorite contemporary romances where the protagonists are already connected in some way, making the leap to romance even more delightful. If you enjoyed stories about unexpected connections blooming right next door, you'll definitely find something to love here. It's a true gem for anyone who believes 'LOVE WAS CLOSER THAN THEY KNEW' could happen in real life! Overall, 'The Neighbor Favor' is a fantastic read that I highly recommend. It’s well-paced, engaging, and delivers all the heart and warmth you could want in a romance novel. Give it a try, you won't regret it!
