#thegreatlockin
I cannot tell you how many times I have had to "start over". my focus has been too focused on aestheticsand not enough on strength and health. My "why" was never strong enough.
I just found out my mother has breast cancer. She never took good care of her body. Tbh, I'm scared I may be genetically predisposed to developing cancer too. So now I'm focused on decreasing my risks in every way I have control over.
I WILL finally drop the excess weight that has me in an obese BMI. I WILL eat healthier and prioritize fitness in my life, no more excuses about being a busy mom. I WILL take ownership of my body and treat it with love and respect instead of the hate and neglect it has been subjected to in the past.

Taking control of your health is a powerful decision, especially when there's a family history of serious illness like breast cancer. The fear of genetic predisposition can be a strong motivator to prioritize both physical and mental well-being. Consistency in your routine is key. As shown in the #THEGREaTLOCKIN community, combining weight training 2-3 times per week with cardio sessions and stretching can greatly improve mobility and strength. Tracking calories and portions by writing everything down helps maintain nutritional balance and prevents self-sabotage through inconsistency. Aim for daily activity goals like 10,000 steps to boost metabolism and improve cardiovascular health. Adding movement to your daily life, whether through walking, stretching, or light exercise, significantly increases your overall energy expenditure. Seeing real progress in endurance, waist size, and strength proves you can overcome difficult challenges with dedication. Remember that your fitness journey is uniquely yours. By focusing on treating your body with love and respect, you reduce risks and build a healthier future. Embracing a mindset shift from aesthetics to holistic well-being fosters a sustainable, fulfilling lifestyle change. Keep pushing, track your progress, and celebrate every small win — your transformation is well within reach.
