Introducing the crate early on was key for me. I made it a cozy den, not a punishment. I tossed a treat inside and let them go in and out freely. For their first meal, I stuck to the food their breeder or shelter used to avoid stomach upset and offered it in their new space. Fresh water was always available. If you have other family members or pets, keep introductions calm and supervised. For us, it was just me and my partner, so we took turns holding and gently interacting with the puppy, keeping voices soft and movements slow.
