... Read moreFoundation shade charts often seem overwhelming at first glance, especially with terms like ‘Fair’, ‘Porcelain’, ‘Rosey’, ‘Golden’, and ‘Olive’. From personal experience, one of the biggest challenges when selecting makeup is identifying your true undertone and depth, which can dramatically improve how natural your foundation looks. Depth refers to how light or dark your skin is, generally categorized as light, medium, or deep. Undertone, however, is the color beneath the surface of your skin and usually falls into cool, warm, or neutral categories. These are often identified by the common shade names you see on charts. For instance, ‘Fair’ and ‘Porcelain’ typically indicate lighter skin depths, but the undertones can differ—‘Porcelain’ might lean cool with pink or rosy hues, while ‘Fair’ may include neutral or warm tones like golden or peachy shades. ‘Rosey’ suggests a cool undertone with pinkish hues; ‘Golden’ indicates a warm, yellowish undertone; and ‘Olive’ can be a more complex neutral or slightly warm undertone with a greenish tint. A handy tip I’ve picked up is to check your veins: if they appear blue or purple, you likely have cool undertones; if they look greenish, warm undertones; and if it’s hard to tell, you might have a neutral undertone. Also, holding a white paper next to your face can help distinguish whether your skin looks more yellow, pink, or balanced. Understanding these nuances can help you stop buying foundation by chance and instead select a perfect match. Don’t be intimidated by the charts—they provide valuable information once you learn to read them. Before your next foundation purchase, save this knowledge and take a moment to analyze your depth and undertone. It’s a small step that will save you time and money, improve your makeup look, and boost your confidence in selecting products that truly suit your complexion.

Me fascina cuando las marcas proveen un chart en sus fotos para guiar y así facilitar al consumidor a comprar mas acertado.
