Our infertility journey
It’s national infertility awareness week and this is our story:
When the Lord was knitting me together, He knitted me with half of a uterus and eggs that would diminish quicker than the average gal. In June of 2021, it was discovered that I have a unicornuate uterus. We learned quickly how this can create challenges when trying for a baby. After we got married in May of 2022 we had a heart change and started trying for a baby in July of 2022! We were so excited for what the Lord was going to do in our home! After several months went by and many negative pregnancy tests, we decided that once we hit one year of trying, I would go in for a checkup. The doctor ran blood work and it was then discovered that I also have diminished ovarian reserve. A condition where the eggs diminish much faster than they should and can lower their quality. Our hearts were heavy and hurting. But God and His kindness! We were reminded of Hannah and her song of thanksgiving in 1 Samuel 2. We were reminded that He is working all things for our good (Romans 8:28). We were reminded of how perfect He is and how glorious eternity will be! We are still in the process of hoping and praying for a baby. The Lord has shown us that He is truly our comforter. He is sovereign. He is good and kind. He provides satisfaction in the midst of suffering. I never imagined infertility to be in our home especially not at our ages. But God knew! We are thankful for Christ dying on the cross and sending His peace to us.
