Sheer for It blush tint

... Read moreI was so excited to finally get my hands on the new E.L.F. Sheer for It Blush Tint, especially in the buzzing shade 'Pink Positive'! You see it everywhere, and being a huge fan of multi-use products, I couldn't wait to try this "buildable stain for lips + cheek" for myself. The packaging is super cute – a sleek little tube, often seen in pink and red packaging, with a convenient applicator wand that makes it easy to dot onto your skin. My first impression of the 'Pink Positive' shade was how beautiful it is. It's a vibrant, reddish-pink cosmetic tint that truly gives that 'natural flush finish' everyone loves. When I first applied it to my cheeks, it blended out smoothly, almost like a dream. It feels lightweight, not sticky at all, which is a major plus for a liquid blush. You can definitely build up the intensity; a little dab gives a subtle wash of color, while adding a bit more creates a bolder, more noticeable blush. I loved how fresh and dewy my skin looked. On the lips, it felt comfortable and gave a lovely natural tint, perfect for an everyday look. However, where I started to have reservations was with the "long-lasting lip & cheek makeup" claim. Other users have mentioned that it didn't last as long as expected, and I have to agree with that experience. As much as I adored the color and how easy it was to apply, I found myself needing to reapply it after just a few hours. For a product marketed as a 'stain,' I was hoping for more staying power, especially on my lips. It seemed to fade quite quickly, leaving behind just a whisper of color. On my cheeks, it held up a bit better, but definitely not through a full workday without a touch-up. I've tried different application methods, too. Sometimes, I'll apply it directly with the applicator wand and blend with my fingers, and other times I’ll use a brush or a sponge. While the blending is always great, the longevity issue seems consistent. It's a shame because the color is absolutely stunning and exactly what I look for in a versatile tint. Despite the longevity, I still find myself reaching for it on days when I'm looking for a quick, natural pop of color and don't mind reapplying. It’s perfect for a 'no-makeup' makeup look or a casual outing. And let's not forget, E.L.F. is known for being vegan and cruelty-free, which is always a big win in my book. If you're someone who loves experimenting with new makeup and prioritizes a beautiful, buildable shade over extreme wear time, then giving 'Pink Positive' a try might still be worth it. Just don't expect it to be an all-day, set-it-and-forget-it kind of product, especially if you're eating or drinking. I might even consider trying another shade like 'Cherry Cola' just to see if the formula performs differently, although my initial experience suggests the wear time might be similar across the board. Overall, a lovely tint for color, but manage your expectations on the 'long-lasting' front!

Elf blush tints are pretty, but the staying power isn't great for me. 🙁
