I was in a high rise building

#storytime #lemon8contest During a storm (i mean it’s summer in Houston Texas there’s a storm once a week), I was at my internship in a Highrise building. Even though they’re built to withstand literal hurricanes, it was still so weird to actually feel the building swaying with the storm winds.

Have you ever been in a situation like this?

When I was interning in Houston, with its climate of constant summer storms, I experienced the phenomenon of a building swaying during a storm. This was both alarming and fascinating. Many high-rises incorporate engineering techniques to minimize swaying, including tuned mass dampers and flexible materials that absorb energy. If you've never experienced this, it can be quite a thrill. Have you felt the building move beneath you during adverse weather? It’s a reminder of nature’s power and the impressive engineering behind these towering structures. Share your stories and join in the conversation about living in the sky.
