I played Blair Park Golf Club in High Point, NC after getting multiple recommendations that it was one of the best budget golf options in the area. With rates ranging from $16 to $35 for 18 holes, it’s easily one of the cheapest courses I’ve found anywhere so far — so my expectations were pretty low going in.
But honestly?
I was pleasantly surprised.

Better than expected for the price. Some uneven spots here and there, but overall solid.

Surprisingly good. Green, healthy, and in better condition than many more expensive tracks I’ve played recently.

A mixed bag. A few rolled nicely and were in good shape, while others definitely needed work. That said — for this price point, I expected way worse. And the speed was quicker than the appearance suggested, though still not “fast” by any means.

The layout isn’t anything dramatic or elite, but it’s fun, playable, and has a couple of standout holes. It’s also very forgiving, with wide landing areas and minimal trouble, so it’s a course where you can spray it a bit and still recover.
This is definitely a place you can bring newer golfers, or go out with friends for a casual round without worrying about losing balls or being overly punished.

Hole 4 – Par 3
A beautiful view off the tee, framed by bunkers on both sides. Clean, simple, and easily one of the most photogenic spots on the course.
Hole 14 – Par 4 (Downhill)
My favorite hole on the entire track. A downhill tee shot over the creek with fall foliage all around — easily the best view at Blair Park and worth pulling the camera out.

The course opens with two par 5s, which is something you don’t see often.
• On Hole 1, you need to carry roughly 230 yards to get over the creek. Do that, and you have a legit chance of getting home in two.
• Hole 2 is also reachable with a good drive.
It’s a cool way to start the round and gives you real momentum early if you strike it well.

The biggest obstacle wasn’t bunkers, water, or tight fairways — it was the power lines that run throughout the course. They’re visible on several tee shots and even impacted one of my approach shots when I ended up literally hitting between the lines.
