Should I start live streaming again?
Backstory: Back during lockdown my friends and I were playing games basically all day, everyday so I started live streaming as a way to satisfy my creative side with performing, make more/new friends who also liked the games I liked, and also make whatever side money I could as my event planning job was obviously nonexistent at the time, and since I was already playing the games anyways I figured why not?! Ever since high school I’ve loved performing and loved streaming/content creating as a way to have that outlet from home. I was never super successful with live streaming but was able to get up to 500 followers on twitch, but found the grind hard to maintain once I went back to work in an office full time. I also struggled with the confidence to play games by myself which creating a problem as my friends wanted to play with me but most didn’t want to be involved in the stream in anyway. Because of these things, I basically stopped streaming, have continued creating YouTube videos here and there but haven’t live streamed in probably close to two years.
Up to present day: I’ve still always had the desire to be a content creator and have really missed streaming from time to time. I still work full time, but now I work remotely which allows for more flexibility and time in my day to a degree. I also have grown more confident in gaming by myself as I have taking the time to grow my skill some, and additionally, many of my friends are no longer available due to schedules/care to play the games I play anymore, so that is no longer much of a factor either. I have been toying with the idea of starting up live streaming again, but I just don’t know what to expect. I don’t want to let myself be to expectant of results, but if I am going to do it, I really want to be in the mindset to give it my best shot, while still just having fun.
I don’t really know what I was hoping to gain from this rambling, but these are just my thoughts lately. Any advise or support you could give is greatly appreciated, and I thank you so much for just reading/listening as well!
