Vacay Input:Vegas Edition
My hubby and I are going to Vegas for 3 days/4 nights in April and I need some show/restaurant recommendations! We’ve been to most of the Cirque shows except the newest one at NYNY, and Absinthe is one of our favorite shows on the strip so things like those are what we like! As far as restaurants, we love breakfast food and seafood, steak, and burgers! Any and all recommendations are appreciated and thank you in advance!

Planning a trip to Vegas is always such a thrill, but it can also feel a bit overwhelming with so many incredible options! I totally get wanting to make the most of those 3 days and 4 nights. Having been to Vegas countless times myself, I’ve picked up a few tips and discovered some amazing spots that might just be perfect for your April getaway, or any time of year you visit! For shows, since you love Cirque du Soleil and Absinthe, you're definitely into that blend of acrobatics, artistry, and a touch of edgy humor. While Absinthe is a classic for a reason, if you're looking for something similar in a more intimate setting, 'Opium' at The Cosmopolitan, from the same creators, is often overlooked but absolutely fantastic! It has that quirky, adult-comedy cabaret vibe. And if you're open to something completely different but equally mesmerizing, 'O' by Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio is a water-based spectacle that consistently blows people away – it's a timeless masterpiece. Always check for deals and book these well in advance, especially for weekend shows, as they sell out fast! Now, onto the food – my favorite part! You can't go wrong with breakfast in Vegas. For a divine brunch experience, Border Grill at Mandalay Bay offers an amazing all-you-can-eat small plates brunch with a lively atmosphere. If you want something more casual but still delicious, Hash House A Go Go (several locations) serves up huge, creative portions that will keep you full all day. For seafood and steak, the options are endless. Joël Robuchon at MGM Grand is the pinnacle of fine dining, but if you want an incredible steak experience without the Michelin price tag, Golden Steer Steakhouse offers old-school Vegas charm and fantastic cuts. For seafood, consider Catch at Aria for a trendy, upscale experience, or for something more relaxed, Oyster Bar at Palace Station is a local favorite that's open 24/7! And for burgers, you HAVE to try Holsteins Shakes and Buns at The Cosmopolitan – their gourmet burgers and insane milkshakes are legendary. Shake Shack at New York-New York is also a solid, reliable choice for a quick, tasty bite. Beyond the main attractions, Vegas has so much more to offer. If you're looking for unique 'things to do', I highly recommend exploring Fremont Street Experience downtown. It's a completely different vibe from the Strip, with free light shows, live music, and even a zipline! For a bit of culture, the Neon Museum is a fantastic outdoor gallery of historic Vegas signs – it's especially magical at night. And if you want a break from the hustle and bustle, a day trip to the Hoover Dam or even the Grand Canyon (South Rim is a bit of a drive but worth it!) can be a refreshing change of pace, offering breathtaking views. Remember to factor in travel time for these. Even in cooler months like January, these outdoor excursions are still beautiful, just dress warmly! A final tip: Wear comfortable shoes! You'll be doing a lot of walking. Also, consider getting a players' card even if you don't gamble much; sometimes they offer discounts on shows or dining. No matter when you go, Vegas is an adventure waiting to happen. Enjoy your planning, and I hope these suggestions help make your trip absolutely unforgettable!
