I learned to adjust my criteria depending on market conditions and my own risk tolerance. Rigidly waiting for a structure shift or a break of fair value gap often delayed my entries too much. Learning to recognize early signals and dynamic market context helped me enter trades at better times rather than waiting on textbook confirmations. Consistently risking the same amount, like $1000 per trade, is a common risk management rule. However, I found that adjusting position sizes based on confidence, volatility, and market structure led to smarter capital allocation and often larger gains. Finally, limiting myself to trading just one asset class—whether forex, stocks, or crypto—excluded many valuable opportunities. Diversifying across multiple instruments helped balance risk and increased consistent profit potential. Breaking these 'rules' was a process of unlearning and tailoring strategies to what actually worked for me. It's essential for traders to critically evaluate commonly preached trading guidelines and customize their approach based on personal experience and real market feedback. This mindset shift played a major role in reaching consistent profits and hitting my $100,000 month milestone.
