When I first started day trading, I constantly struggled with understanding why price movements behaved the way they did. It was frustrating to see candlestick charts alone and feel like I was missing critical clues. But after I focused on incorporating volume analysis, especially using the volume profile tool, everything changed. Volume profile lets you see not just how much volume traded, but at which price levels it happened. This gives a deeper insight compared to traditional volume bars. By identifying the Value Area High (VAH), Value Area Low (VAL), and the Point of Control (POC), I could spot where big players were accumulating or defending positions. This knowledge allowed me to anticipate market moves more confidently. Another game changer was mastering the concept of acceptance and rejection. When price moves above the fair value zone and stays there, it signals acceptance of higher prices, often leading to upward trends. Conversely, rejection of higher prices can indicate potential declines. Recognizing these helped me avoid fakeouts and time entries better. Lastly, understanding high and low volume nodes was crucial. High volume nodes act like support or resistance zones where the price tends to slow due to large positions. Low volume nodes are gaps where prices move quickly, providing excellent trade opportunities for breakouts or breakdowns. By combining these three concepts—volume profile, acceptance & rejection, and volume nodes—I was able to transform my trading from guesswork into a data-driven strategy. It’s not just about looking at price but seeing the market depth and sentiment behind it. For anyone struggling to improve trading results, I highly recommend mastering these tools and concepts to gain a professional edge.
