Rating baby toys my 7 month old has had

These are my honest opinions on toys my 7-month-old has. All were either bought by us or gifted to us by family/friends- none were provided by the companies in exchange for ads/content/reviews.

✨Baby Einstein play gym- 10/10 he loves this so much. I thought for sure he’d grow out of it by now but he hasn’t. There’s so much to do on it- piano, tummy time pillow, sensory toys, mirror, etc. The piano can detach for on the go and it can be turned on its side for kicking or upright so baby can sit and play it

✨Blissful Diary play gym- 5/10 it’s okay. It was great for the first few months but he just outgrew it. There’s not enough to keep him entertained and since he hates tummy time he needs a mat that keeps him stimulated. It is really soft and thick so it became a nice mat, but just didn’t have enough for him to look at/grab.

✨Baby Einstein sea soother- 6/10 it helps him not hate the crib, helps soothe him to sleep, he can reach and press the button to restart it as needed. But it does go through C batteries fast which gets annoying and it’s kinda bulky/gets in the way

✨Infinno water tummy time mat- 1/10 only because it did give him a few minutes of fun otherwise it would be 0. I loved the idea and thought he’d enjoy it but every time we try it it’s a no. And it’s a pain in the butt to fill up. And it doesn’t completely empty/dry out so it will definitely grow mold. And I’m waiting for the day either my dogs nails pop it open or baby pulls the plug that holds the water in and my living room is flooded

✨Tiny Love activity center- 8/10 he absolutely loves this. We take this with us all the time because he has so much fun in it. There’s tons to do, it’s help him to sit up, stand, and learn balance. And it will transition into a table with a chair once he outgrows the current configuration

✨Fisher Price floor seat- 6/10 it’s a pretty decent seat, very supportive and soft fabric so I don’t worry he will hit his head or anything. Was great for when he was first learning to sit. It’s perfect for if I need to sit him in something safe so I can go to the bathroom, start a load of dishes, etc. There’s not a lot to do in it though so he needs additional toys or *gasp* a show turned on. But for what it is we really liked it

✨Infantino discovery seat- 7/10 he loves his “dj booth” and has yet to get bored of it. It’s helped him to learn to sit up on his own and build core strength. There’s a lot of engaging things on it and a little toy bar you can clip additional toys to. Plus the trays are removable and slide to open up a snack tray and cup holder. And if you take the whole tray off you have a regular booster seat

✨Soft toy fish- 4/10 it’s just so-so. I don’t remember the brand. It’s colorful and full of textures and maybe he’ll play with it more when he’s a little older but he just gets bored of it after 5 seconds

✨ Baby Einstein crawling toy- 8/10 what can I say they just make some good toys. It rolls as you push it so it helps to encourage baby to “chase”/crawl. It has lots of sounds, a mirror, and teaches numbers/shapes/colors. He’s had a lot of fun with this and hasn’t got bored yet, and I haven’t had to change batteries yet lol

... Read moreChoosing the right toys for a 7-month-old can be quite a challenge, especially when you want to ensure they’re both entertaining and developmentally beneficial. From my experience, toys that encourage movement and sensory exploration have been the most successful. For example, play gyms with multiple interactive elements such as detachable pianos or mirrors keep my baby engaged for longer periods. These features support fine motor skills and cognitive development while offering plenty of tactile and visual stimulation. One key lesson I've learned is that babies at this stage quickly outgrow toys that don’t adapt or offer varied interaction. Toys like simple mats or soft plushies, although colorful and textured, may fail to hold attention unless combined with other stimulating elements. Products that promote physical activity, like activity centers that transition into tables or seats, are especially valuable. They help with balance, sitting, and standing, providing a safe space for babies to practice new skills. Battery-operated toys can be beneficial for sound and light stimulation, but keep in mind the inconvenience of changing batteries frequently, as seen with some soothers. It’s also important to consider practicality; for example, water mats may seem like a great tummy time option but can be difficult to maintain and clean, possibly leading to mold issues. Safety and comfort are paramount. Equipment like soft, supportive floor seats offer secure places to sit and play but usually need supplemental toys or activities to prevent boredom. Additionally, products with removable trays or detachable parts offer versatility and longevity, growing with your child’s needs. Ultimately, observing your baby’s preferences and reactions is vital. Every child is different, so what fascinated my little one might not appeal to another. Choosing toys that encourage exploration and development while providing comfort and enjoyment is the goal. Sharing honest experiences helps other parents navigate these choices wisely and find the best fit for their baby’s unique stage.
