Crockpot Dinner Ideas

If your family has a busy schedule and you’re too tired to make dinner once you get home, crockpot meals are perfect. I also like to add carrots to mine. Also, if you cant have dairy you can substitute daiya dairy free cheese and leave out the heavy cream and it still tastes delicious. (The part of the instructions that got cut off are just add salt and pepper to taste.)

One popular recipe is the creamy potato soup, which combines potatoes, cheese, and ranch seasoning for a hearty meal. To make this dish, start by peeling and dicing six medium potatoes into uniform pieces. Layer the diced potatoes in your crockpot, and sprinkle a packet of ranch seasoning evenly over the top. Then, add one cup of shredded cheddar cheese and half a cup of cooked crumbled bacon for added flavor. Next, pour four cups of chicken or vegetable broth over the layered ingredients, ensuring they are fully covered. Cook on low for 4 hours or on high for 7-8 hours until the potatoes are tender. Once cooked, stir in heavy cream or half-and-half for a rich texture, adjusting the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with extra cheese and chopped chives or green onions for a delicious finishing touch. Experiment with the recipe by substituting ingredients based on dietary needs, like using dairy-free cheese or leaving out the heavy cream while still enjoying the robust flavors. Crockpot meals not only save time but also allow for flexibility in your cooking. Enjoy the comfort of a warm dinner without the hassle, making it simpler to gather around the table with family after a long day.
