Nightstand Tour
Here’s my nightstand tour :) I painted the side to give it some pizazz #nightstandtour #lemon8challenge
You know that feeling when your bedside table is just… *there*? For ages, mine was just a dumping ground for books I swore I’d read and empty water glasses. But I decided it was time to transform it into a true sanctuary, and I'm so glad I did! There’s something incredibly calming about having an organized, aesthetically pleasing space right next to where you sleep. For my nightstand, I wanted a mix of functional essentials and playful decor. First up, the base: a simple light wood nightstand. I felt it needed a little extra 'pizazz' (as I mentioned in my original post!), so I grabbed some paint and went wild with fruit illustrations! Yes, you heard that right – little kiwi, cherries, grapefruit, peach, watermelon, and orange slices now adorn the side. It was such a fun DIY project and instantly made the piece feel unique and totally *me*. If you’re looking for a simple way to personalize your furniture without breaking the bank, a painted detail like this is a fantastic idea! On top, my absolute must-haves. My lamp with pink stacked spheres is not only super cute, but it provides that perfect warm glow for winding down. I love curling up with my black e-reader before bed – it’s a game-changer for avoiding blue light from phones. A heart-shaped candle is always nearby for instant cozy vibes, and honestly, who doesn't love a good scent before drifting off? I also keep a quirky colorful cube on top, which is surprisingly handy for holding little bits like hair ties or earplugs. Moving down to the shelves, this is where practicality meets a touch of whimsy. I have a cute pink stand that holds my favorite lip balm (a nighttime essential!) and a tiny white figure that just brings a smile to my face. And yes, that’s a mini disco ball! Why not add a bit of sparkle? Alongside it, my amethyst crystals are there for good energy and peaceful sleep – whether you believe in crystals or not, they certainly look pretty! For those less glamorous but necessary items, I keep a discrete medicine container tucked away. And on the very bottom shelf, a patterned bin acts as my designated bin for trash. This little trick is genius for keeping the top surface clutter-free and making sure tissues or receipts don’t pile up. Creating your own nightstand sanctuary is all about balancing what you need with what you love. Think about your nightly routine: what do you reach for? What brings you joy? Don't be afraid to mix practical items with decorative ones. Add personal touches like art, photos, or even a quirky souvenir. The goal is to make it a space that feels calm, organized, and truly yours, reflecting your personality and making your mornings and evenings a little bit brighter. Happy decorating!
