Miles with max 🐾
Max loves going on walks but it has been TOO hot here in Ohio. We get to go on 5-10 minute walks in the morning but by the afternoon it’s in the near 90s!
We are looking forward to fall where we can walk longer distances together and explore all the new smells.
How long do you and your dog go for walks? 🐾

Walking your dog is not just about exercise; it's also a time for bonding and exploration. In hot weather, it's crucial to adjust the duration and timing of walks to ensure your dog's safety. Early mornings or late evenings are the best times to venture outside when it's cooler. Additionally, consider some alternative indoor activities like playing fetch or setting up an obstacle course in your backyard. As the fall season approaches, these walks will become even more enjoyable, with cooler temperatures and the opportunity to experience new scents and sights. Dogs love to explore their environment, and each season offers unique experiences. For instance, the colorful leaves of autumn provide a visually stimulating backdrop for walks, helping to enrich your dog's sensory experience. Don't forget to keep your dog hydrated and look out for signs of overheating, such as excessive panting or lethargy. Investing in a dog water bottle can be a game changer for longer outings. Along with ensuring your dog's comfort, consider using heat-reflective gear or cooling vests for comfort during your walks. Finally, maintaining a social aspect through playdates with other dogs or visiting parks that allow dogs can preserve their mental health and happiness. Engage with your community to learn about upcoming dog-friendly events or group walks, which can enhance the walking experience for both you and Max. Let's celebrate each outing as an adventure!

Usually I do anywhere from 1-5 miles with my dog but it’s been insanely hot here as well so we’ve been doing like 10-30 minute walks and we almost dieeeddd the other day
