I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM…
.... WE ALL SCREAM CONSTANTLY! EACH DAY IS A NEW NIGHTMARE IN THIS HELLWORLD WE CALL EARTH!
I'm not really sure what do with this app. I'm not fashionable enough to make frequent OOTD posts (and I'm in work clothes more often than not, anyhow, and mechanic blues aren't exactly trending at the Shein store), I don't think I could even thirst trap a vampire, and I was never a particularly hip person to begin with. So I'll figure something out. I can do the IG and TikTok alright, but the purpose of this app is elusive to me.
I was having to esssssplain the nature of some of the stickers on my toolboxes to one of my coworkers, and I figured I might ought to could show some of the ones from various ice cream places I've frequented (although it's actually not common for me to eat ice cream).
1: Nuggs Ice Cream. Located on the North side of Colfax and Fairfax in Denver. It was kind of my go-to when I lived there (though again, going there wasn't particularly common). Their parking lot was kinda crap, though I did manage to park a 12 ton wrecker on a Freightliner M2 chassis by backing right up to their door with it once. Good ice cream, though. You should go if you get the chance.
2: Ice Cream Riot, located near Colfax and Humboldt St., again in Denver. The flavors were pretty normal, and I think what made them stand out was their ice cream sandwiches which used two Pop Tarts as the wafers. While I never had one myself, they sure looked tempting. Sadly, looking it up on the Google Machine to remember the cross streets, I see it appears they are now permanently closed. Memento mori.
3: Sweet Cow. I remember the storefront in Louisville, Colorado, and also in one of the food courts... perhaps Stanley Marketplace in Aurora? When I lived in Broomfield and my (now) ex- worked in Louisville, it was pretty convenient to go there, plus they shared the building with a pizza place... Lucky Pie, who had an excellent pizza with prosciutto and goat cheese. Looking on Google, it seems their stores have expanded, so good for them.
4: Gelato & Co. Turns out this is a chain with locations in Colorado, Texas, Florida, and also Panama and the Cayman Islands. IIRC, my neighbor and I saw the sign on the way to this macaroni and cheese place we wanted to try (we both got bit by the foodie bug) and stopped on the return trip.
5: Happy Cones. New Zealand style ice cream, they call it. I thought it was really good, and was quite different from American ice cream, which I often find to be overly sweetened. They were at the Edgewater Public Market in Edgewater, Colorado, but it looks like they have at least one more location in Golden, as well as an ice cream truck.
6: Howling Cow Creamery. Now this one is cool. It's operated at part of the agricultural program at North Carolina State University, and the milk they use comes from their own cows on site, meaning it's some incredibly fresh ice cream they offer. You'll miss it if you don't know it's there, as it's a pretty nondescript building... even though I live just a couple miles down the road from it, it's located in a not very densely packed stretch of Lake Wheeler Road, and I've even towed cars out of that lot before, I had no idea what it was until I was looking on Google Maps to show a coworker something, and the name Howling Cow Creamery appeared, from which I learned there was an ice cream shop there. Even if it is NCSU (because I've always rooted for Chapel Hill), it's definitely worth stopping in.
