5 Summer Activities

Here are five underrated summer activities that are cheap or free, depending on what you count as free (because what is ever truly free?) and where you live.

1) Foraging Walks. If you aren’t comfortable learning about local plants and foraging for food- you can forage for crafts instead! You can press flowers and plants to create art, or herbs to make a foot soak.

2) Night Picnics. Lay a blanket under the stars with soft music and some snacks. You can catch fireflies if they’re around your area, or look up constellations.

3) Tourist Day. Look up your local history, or the history of a nearby town, and go visit local sights. You might find something new!

4) Storm Watching. Summer storms are beautiful! If you know one is coming, plan an intentional storm watching date. Grab a cup of cozy, and a place you can watch it safely.

5) Library Hopping. Spend the day going to every library in your area. A fun challenge to go with it would be to play Roulette with the books by closing your eyes, holding your hand out, and checking out whatever book you land on. Share your favorite lines at the end of the day.
