🩸 Himiko Toga @ Risucon 2024 🩸

Getting ready for Risucon 2024, I knew I wanted to go all out with my Himiko Toga cosplay from My Hero Academia. She's such an iconic villain, and I just love her chaotic energy! For anyone thinking about cosplaying her, I wanted to share some thoughts on how I put my look together, especially focusing on her classic school uniform and those killer details. First off, the school uniform is a must-have for Himiko. I opted for a crisp white shirt, a dark pleated skirt, and a tie. Layering a cream cardigan over it instantly gives that authentic Toga flair. Mine had a glittery blade, which added a fun, playful twist to her menacing aura. It's all about finding props that are safe for conventions but still look authentic to the character. Now, for the face – this is where the magic happens for her creepy smile and overall vibe. I spent a lot of time on her cosplay makeup. For the eyes, I went with a heavy hand of dark eye makeup to really make them pop and give that slightly unhinged look. Using black eyeliner and shadow helped achieve that depth. And the black lipstick? Absolutely essential! It ties the whole villainous aesthetic together and makes her smile even more striking. Her hair is another defining feature. Those blonde messy buns are iconic! I used a wig, which I styled carefully to get that wild, yet cute, look. Securing them properly meant I wasn't constantly adjusting during photoshoots, like the ones taken on the window ledge or by the dark pillar. One of my favorite parts about cosplaying Himiko Toga is getting into character. Practicing her poses and that signature creepy smile close up in the mirror really helps. It’s amazing how much a facial expression can elevate a cosplay! The photos we took, capturing me in different settings – sitting on the window ledge, looking to the side, or standing – really showcased the different facets of her personality. Overall, putting together my Himiko Toga costume was such a rewarding experience. From selecting the right school uniform elements to perfecting the makeup and styling her signature messy buns, every detail contributed to bringing this My Hero Academia villain to life.
