For me, learning to say no without guilt was a game changer. It wasn’t easy initially, especially in relationships where love felt conditional on putting others first. But when I embraced boundaries as a form of self-respect, not selfishness, it changed how I related to myself and others. One important lesson is that boundaries are not just about keeping negativity out; they are about protecting your emotional space so you can grow authentically. This helped me avoid unhealthy patterns, such as overcommitting or tolerating behavior that didn’t align with my values.
