SKYLAR Discovery Set review 🍑🤔

Recently I've been getting more into the world of smellgoods, and I specifically had my eye on Skylar because it's both ✨aesthetic✨ and hypoallergenic (as I’m allergic to a lot of things 🤪🤧). Here's my review of each of the 5 mini scents, ratings taken out of 5 stars.

Peach Fields

⭐️⭐️1/2

🍑 White peach, osmanthus, sandalwood

📝 Honestly, I got this whole set to smell this one!! Peach Fields surprised me…and not in a good way 😧 I was expecting something sweet or tangy, but the woodiness really cuts through the peach here. As a fruity girly, I wish there was more peach! 😩

Vanilla Sky

⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

☁️ Cappuccino, pure vanilla, caramelized cedar

📝 Sweet and soft, this one should’ve been right up my alley. However, the opening’s a little too synthetic for my taste 🤖 I'd probably only wear it layered with other vanilla scents.

Lime Sands

⭐️⭐️1/2

🏝️ Lime, sea salt, coconut water

I was worried about this one, but it's not too bad! The lime doesn't feel like a nose punch, but a bit too clean for my liking. I wouldn’t wear it, but I definitely smell the appeal.

Salt Air

⭐️

🌊 Driftwood, sea salt, seaweed

📝 A VERY clean scent, calling to mind line-drying laundry on the beach. I’m convinced this should be a bathroom spray… 😬 Also— I thought this was supposed to be hypoallergenic?? Why am I sneezing so much?? 🤧💀

Coconut Cove

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🥥 Bergamot, coconut, ambrox

📝 The best one of the set for sure! The coconut is balanced by the other notes. Very wearable summery scent 😎

FINAL VERDICT

⭐️⭐️1/2

Overall, the set was just…mid. One really nice scent, one really bad scent, and the others fell in the middle. I may change my mind, but for now I'm glad I tried these before blind buying a larger size!

... Read moreAfter diving into my Skylar Discovery Set, I really got a feel for the brand's unique approach to fragrance. My initial 'Skylar Perfume Review' definitely left me wondering if it was a 'Buy or bye?' situation for some of the scents! But beyond just the individual perfumes, I've been exploring what else Skylar offers, especially since many of you are searching for things like the 'Skylar Scent Club' and specific popular fragrances like 'Skylar Milk and Chill perfume.' The biggest draw for me, and likely for many others, is Skylar's commitment to being hypoallergenic and using clean ingredients. As someone who reacts to a lot of perfumes, their promise of being free from parabens, phthalates, and synthetic dyes is a huge relief. It’s comforting to know I can try scents without worrying about a sneeze attack, even if 'Salt Air' did give me a momentary scare! This focus on gentle formulations really sets them apart in the fragrance world. Speaking of expanding my Skylar experience, the 'Skylar Scent Club' is something I've looked into more seriously since finishing my Discovery Set. For those unfamiliar, it’s a subscription service where you get a full-sized bottle of your choice each month, often at a discounted price. Considering my mixed feelings about the Discovery Set – where 'Coconut Cove' was a clear winner, but others were just 'mid' – the Scent Club seems like a smart way to explore their wider range without committing to a full bottle blindly. If you find one or two scents you genuinely love, it could be a great value for building your fragrance wardrobe. It also allows you to skip months or swap scents, which offers a lot of flexibility. Another scent that frequently pops up in searches is 'Skylar Milk and Chill perfume.' While it wasn't in my Discovery Set, the buzz around it is undeniable! From what I gather, it’s often described as a cozy, comforting scent with notes that evoke warmth and sweetness, perhaps with a hint of something creamy or gourmand. It sounds like a perfect contender for cooler weather or for those who adore vanilla-based and soft, inviting fragrances. It's definitely on my list to try next, especially if I decide to join the Scent Club. It’s always interesting to see how different notes come together in Skylar’s clean formulations. Ultimately, my journey with the Skylar Discovery Set and subsequent research into their offerings like the Scent Club and other popular perfumes has been really insightful. It reinforces the idea that fragrance is incredibly personal, and what one person loves, another might not. But Skylar’s dedication to cleaner, hypoallergenic options makes them a brand worth exploring, especially if you have sensitivities or are simply looking for beautifully crafted scents that are kinder to your skin. Don't be afraid to try a 'Skylar Perfume Discovery Set box' yourself to find your own favorites – it's the best way to determine your own 'buy or bye!'
