What is the character of Christ?
Hi friends! After a lot of prayer, I wanted to start a new chapter in my Lemon8 page to focus more on my faith and Bible study. And especially some essential Bible prophecies 👀
But first... having a “head knowledge” of the Bible and its prophecies isn’t enough. We must have the CHARACTER of Christ if we hope to overcome the world and enter into Heaven! 😮 Don’t believe me? 1 John 3:2-3 says, "…when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." So, what are the essential aspects of Jesus’ character that He also wants us to have?
♥️ 1. Love and Compassion
John 15:13 — "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
Matthew 9:36 — "But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them..."
😌 2. Humility
Philippians 2:5-8 — "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant… and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
Matthew 11:29 — "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart..."

John 6:38 — "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me."
Hebrews 5:8 — "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;"
😇 4. Righteousness and Holiness
1 Peter 2:22 — "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:"
Hebrews 7:26 — "For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners..."
🙏 5. Mercy and Forgiveness
Luke 23:34 — "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."
John 8:11 — "...And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."
⚖️ 6. Justice and Truth
Isaiah 11:4-5 — "But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth...
And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins."
John 14:6 — "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life..."
🤲 7. Servanthood and Selflessness
Mark 10:45 — "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."
John 13:14-15 — "If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet..."

Moreover, obedience to God the Father is a core principle illustrated in Christ’s life, emphasizing the importance of following divine guidance (John 6:38). In terms of righteousness and holiness, Jesus' life reflects a model for living free from sin (1 Peter 2:22). Mercy and forgiveness are fundamental to His character, demonstrating the importance of extending grace to others, as He did on the cross (Luke 23:34). Justice and truth were core values that guided His actions (Isaiah 11:4-5). Finally, servanthood is a recurring theme in Christ’s teachings, encouraging every believer to serve their community selflessly (Mark 10:45). As followers of Christ, adopting these traits not only enriches our personal lives but significantly impacts those around us. In this exploration of Jesus' character, we find a path to emulate his virtues, contributing positively to our church and society.
