What I’m reading now…

... Read moreOkay, bookworms, I just had to share what’s got me completely absorbed right now! I finally picked up 'The Hating Game' by Sally Thorne, and honestly, I’m kicking myself for not reading it sooner. You know how some books just grab you from the first page? This is definitely one of those. I’d heard so much buzz about it, especially about the incredible enemies-to-lovers trope, and as someone who lives for witty banter and slow-burn romance, my curiosity was definitely piqued. Sally Thorne has a reputation for delivering stories that are both hilarious and heartfelt, and 'The Hating Game' absolutely lives up to it. The premise is brilliant: Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman are executive assistants who absolutely despise each other. Or so they think! They work across from each other, constantly competing for promotions, and their daily interactions are pure gold. The tension, the unspoken feelings, the subtle glances – it's all so perfectly crafted. As I was reading, I kept finding myself smiling, laughing out loud, and sometimes even gasping at their interactions. It’s not just a romance; it’s a masterclass in character development and building undeniable chemistry. And let’s talk about Joshua Templeman for a minute. Oh. My. Goodness. From the moment he appeared on the page, I was intrigued. He comes across as stoic, intimidating, and almost perpetually annoyed, especially with Lucy. But as the story unfolds, Sally Thorne slowly peels back the layers of his personality, revealing a depth and tenderness that completely won me over. He's the kind of male lead who seems gruff on the outside but is secretly incredibly thoughtful and protective. I absolutely adore how his character develops, and his dry wit is just everything. He’s definitely high on my list of favorite book boyfriends now! Sally Thorne’s writing style is just so engaging. She uses such vivid descriptions and her dialogue sparkles with intelligence and humor. I love how she makes you feel like you’re right there in the office with Lucy and Joshua, experiencing all their frustrations and eventually, their undeniable connection. It’s clear she understands the nuances of human relationships and how to build a compelling narrative around them. If you’re looking for an author who can make you laugh, swoon, and root for the characters every step of the way, you really need to check out Sally Thorne. Honestly, if you're a fan of contemporary romance, office romances, or simply a fantastic story with memorable characters, you have to read 'The Hating Game'. It's been such a delightful escape, and I can't recommend it enough. What are your thoughts on 'The Hating Game'? Or have you read any other Sally Thorne books I should add to my TBR pile?
