My entire heart from day one.🐾

My dog is my Emotional Support animal and my protector. He has two sides the first is the one that is happy, playful, while at the same time calm and his second side is if you approach or get near my mom I will bite you no one is allowed to get near her.

even though he has heartworm he is still a happy boy though I do have concerns about recent developments. He still wants to eat, greet, and walk with me but I am monitoring him.

Dogs, in particular, provide companionship, reduce anxiety, and offer a sense of security. When an ESA also serves as a protector, as in this story, their dual role requires special attention. Heartworm disease, caused by parasitic worms transmitted by mosquitoes, can affect dogs severely but is often manageable with veterinary care. Common symptoms include coughing, fatigue, decreased appetite, and difficulty breathing, although some dogs remain asymptomatic in early stages. Regular veterinary checkups are essential to detect heartworm early and provide appropriate treatment. It's important for emotional support dog owners to monitor changes in behavior, energy level, appetite, and mobility. Even with heartworm, dogs can maintain a happy, playful demeanor if properly cared for. However, new or worsening symptoms should prompt an immediate vet visit. Supportive care, preventive medication, and avoiding strenuous exercise during treatment help improve the dog's quality of life. Additionally, emotional support animals often develop strong bonds with their owners’ loved ones, demonstrating protective instincts as a sign of loyalty and attachment. Training and socialization help manage protective behaviors safely while ensuring companions remain well-adjusted in social settings. In summary, an emotional support dog with heartworm requires ongoing monitoring and care alongside the loving environment provided by its owner. Combining medical treatment with emotional support ensures both physical health and mental wellness, creating a fulfilling life for the dog and the family it protects.
