Sometimes the best meals come from a bit of creativity and making use of what’s already in your fridge. This Skillet BBQ Ham & Potato Melt is a prime example of how you can turn simple pantry staples into a satisfying and flavorful dish. I’ve found that using canned sliced potatoes can be a huge time saver without sacrificing taste. When pan-fried, they crisp up nicely and provide a great base for the other ingredients. The sweetness of caramelized onions really complements the smoky Canadian bacon and tangy BBQ sauce, creating a harmonious balance of flavors. For those nights when time is tight, or you just want to keep things easy, this skillet meal is perfect. It only takes about 15-20 minutes from start to finish, and minimal cleanup is required since everything cooks in one pan. Adding provolone cheese on top and covering the skillet to melt it results in a gooey, savory finish that ties all the elements together wonderfully. You can experiment with different BBQ sauces to adjust the flavor profile—whether you prefer sweeter, spicier, or smoky tones. One tip I’ve learned is to make sure the skillet isn’t too crowded when cooking the potatoes and bacon. This helps achieve that desirable golden crisp. You can also add a sprinkle of garlic salt and freshly ground pepper to enhance the seasoning further. This dish is great for budget-conscious cooks and anyone looking for quick dinner ideas that don’t skimp on flavor. Plus, it’s very versatile: feel free to add other vegetables you have on hand, like bell peppers or mushrooms, to boost the nutritional value. In my experience, meals like this show that you don’t need a long shopping list or complicated instructions to enjoy a satisfying homemade dinner. Just a little creativity, simple ingredients, and a good skillet make all the difference!

That looks really good! I'm going to try it!
