“mental health walks” are cool and all… but you know what actually changed my life?
Getting into rooms that made me uncomfortable.
Rooms where the women were smarter than me.
Making more than me.
Thinking bigger than me.
Women who challenged my excuses instead of validating them.
Because the truth is… your environment will either grow you or keep you stuck.
Three years ago after I had my son, I realized I didn’t need more motivation quotes. I needed proximity.
I needed to get around women with bigger bank accounts, bigger vision, stronger mindsets, and higher standards than I had at the time.
And instead of being intimidated by it… I decided to become it.
That decision changed everything.
My income.
My confidence.
My standards.
My future.
And now I get to fly to convention with 40 women on my high ticket affiliate marketing team from completely different walks of life. Moms. Hairstylists. Corporate women. Stay at home moms. Women who were broke, burnt out, stuck, overwhelmed, and looking for more.
And the craziest part?
If I never took the leap and started this business… a lot of them probably never would have either.
The ripple effect of one woman deciding to change her life can impact hundreds more.
That’s why proximity matters.
That’s why the rooms you get into matter.
And that’s why betting on yourself matters.
Sometimes growth looks like getting on the plane.
Walking into the room nervous.
Investing before you feel ready.
And becoming the version of you that your old life wouldn’t even recognize. 🔥
One of the most profound lessons I've learned on my journey is that growth rarely happens in isolation. While "mental health walks" provide a great moment of clarity, real transformation comes from the people you choose to surround yourself with. I found that entering rooms where women were smarter, more driven, and financially successful than me pushed me beyond my limits and shattered my self-imposed barriers. Early on, it wasn't easy. I had to overcome feelings of intimidation and self-doubt. But instead of shrinking away, I made a conscious decision to adopt the mindset and habits of those I admired. This meant not just passive observation, but active engagement—asking questions, seeking mentorship, and holding myself accountable to higher standards. Getting on that plane to attend a convention with my high-ticket affiliate marketing team was symbolic of this leap of faith. Walking into a room filled with diverse women—from moms to corporate professionals—each facing their own challenges yet striving for better, was both nerve-wracking and empowering. It showed me firsthand that investing in your growth before you feel completely ready is a necessary step toward becoming the version of yourself that your past self wouldn't recognize. Furthermore, the ripple effect of such decisions is remarkable. By elevating myself, I created opportunities for other women to rise alongside me. This collective empowerment validates the importance of proximity—not just physical, but mental and emotional—in creating lasting change. For anyone feeling stuck or overwhelmed, my advice is to actively seek out and commit to environments that challenge and inspire you. Whether it’s a networking group, a mentorship program, or a business convention, placing yourself in the midst of ambitious, success-driven individuals can redefine what you believe is possible. Growth may require discomfort, but the rewards in confidence, income, and personal fulfillment are undeniably worth it.
