From my own experience, I've realized how easy it is to fall into the trap of overthinking every aspect of life, especially when it comes to planning our futures and managing our anxieties. Like many, I used to think I had to control everything on my own, pressured by the idea that independence meant having every detail figured out perfectly. But over time, I've learned that this mindset often leads to stress, frustration, and feeling emotionally exhausted. What really helped me was shifting my perspective to lean more on my faith and trust in God. It wasn't an immediate change, as the habit of stressing and overanalyzing was deeply ingrained. However, slowly allowing myself to depend on God's guidance rather than solely on my own understanding brought unexpected peace. Instead of trying to force outcomes through worry and rigid planning, trusting that God has a plan and that He is always faithful helped me let go of the heavy burden I was carrying. This process also made me recognize how past disappointments and hurts can harden our hearts and push us toward self-reliance as a defense mechanism. But I found that God’s compassion and faithfulness remain constant, even when I fail to trust Him fully. Embracing this truth reduced my anxiety and helped me to live more present and less controlled by fear of the unknown. For anyone feeling overwhelmed by the need to have everything under control, I would encourage trying to surrender those pressures bit by bit. Accepting that it's okay not to have all the answers and that leaning on God is not a sign of weakness but of true strength can be liberating. It’s a journey of learning to trust that, even when plans don’t go as expected, there is a higher purpose and loving guidance at work. This mindset shift doesn't erase challenges but gives you a foundation of peace amidst them.
