your new go-to french restaurant date spot in town

it was recently my partner’s bday so i decided to bring him to The Masses Singapore located at city hall for a birthday lunch and wow, it was a hit. 🤯❤️

the restaurant has both a 2-course set meal and a 4-course set meal as shown in slide 2~ got one of each because they both offer different menu items and topped up $15 for the rainbow brioche with umami butter and drinks.

ngl, all the dishes slapped so its hard to say which in particular was a highlight but for the starters, my partner really enjoyed the oyster (in his words, it was very very very fresh) and i liked the beef tartare a lot (minus the caviar because i’m not a big seafood fan). 🥩 the c&c&c&c pasta was also a star dish although i would have loved to try it hot instead of cold, but nevertheless it was delicious and unique, and they were generous with the crabmeat and sauce. 🍝🫶🏻

if you’re looking for the perfect place to indulge yourself in some french fusion cuisine, the masses might just be the one for you as it was for me. 💓

The set lunch menu is well-priced, with a 2-course meal at $30.90 and a 4-course meal at $48.90, giving diners a great way to enjoy gourmet French fusion without breaking the bank. The rainbow brioche with umami butter adds a lovely, intriguing touch that complements the meal well. During my visit, I was impressed by how the kitchen crafted traditional flavors with a modern twist. For example, the C&C&C&C pasta, although served cold, was packed generously with crabmeat and a rich lobster bisque sauce, creating a memorable and satisfying starter. The beef tartare stood out with its zesty and fresh flavor, even surpassing some Parisian experiences I’ve had. Main courses like the duck leg confit paired with wok-fried noodles introduced a smoky, crispy texture and deliciously tender meat. The truffle and cheese cavatelli offered a luxurious take on cacio e pepe, perfectly balanced and executed. Plus, the option to top up for drinks or the unique Rainbow Brioche lets you tailor your meal according to your preferences. For those curious about the dining atmosphere, The Masses balances fine dining finesse with a casual and inviting ambiance, ideal for special occasions or a refined lunch outing. Their attention to detail, from plating to fresh ingredients like oysters described as "very very very fresh," makes it a fantastic choice for anyone craving French fusion in Singapore. I definitely recommend booking a lunch here to experience their thoughtful menu and generous portions firsthand. It’s a delightful find for both locals and visitors wanting to explore contemporary French cuisine with excellent value.
