Disaster order
Ordered from target, received an empty box and they won’t refund or replace. What would you do?
For pretext, I used Afterpay, I cannot do a chargeback because of this. I filed 2 claims with FedEx and they denied the claims, filed a police report, Afterpay denied the claims and target won’t review it again. Have you been in this situation before? #lemon8christmas #lemon8contest
Experiencing a situation where you order a product online but receive an empty package can be incredibly frustrating, especially when customer service refuses to help. In cases like this, where Target confirms the order was fulfilled but you physically received nothing, it's important to understand both your rights and possible next steps. First, document everything meticulously. Save all emails, receipts, and correspondence with the seller, delivery company, and payment service like Afterpay. Since Afterpay does not permit chargebacks and they declined your claim, alternative approaches are needed. Filings claims with the shipping carrier like FedEx are a logical step, but as seen, these can be denied if the carrier considers the package delivered as intended. In these scenarios, filing a police report is crucial as it formally acknowledges the loss and potential theft, which may support your case with both the retailer and payment provider. Moreover, you can escalate the matter within Target by requesting to speak with higher-level customer service or a dispute resolution team. Providing all evidence, including the police report, increases your chances of reconsideration. If all company routes fail, consider seeking consumer protection advice from government agencies such as the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission. They can sometimes mediate resolution or alert others to fraudulent practices. Preventive measures for future orders include requiring signature confirmation on delivery and promptly inspecting packages. Sharing your experience on forums and social platforms can also warn others and sometimes prompt companies to act faster. Remember, you are not alone, and many people face similar challenges with lost or empty deliveries. Exploring every legal and procedural avenue, keeping records, and communicating persistently are key to resolving such disputes.
