CAN I TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT ME?
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how easy it is for people to see the finished version of someone and never wonder how they got there.
So…
Can I tell you a little about me?
I’m 58 years old.
Life hasn’t gone exactly the way I imagined it would.
I’ve survived things I never thought I’d have to survive.
I’ve loved deeply.
I’ve lost.
I’ve cried more tears than most people will ever know.
I’ve made mistakes.
I’ve had to start over more than once.
I’ve spent years in survival mode.
And I’m still learning what it means to truly live.
But if there’s one thing life has never taken from me…
It’s my heart.
I’ve never liked seeing people ridiculed.
If I see someone hurting… I hurt too.
I cry watching the news. Some days it’s exhausting to watch.
I cry during movies… even a good TV series. And I mean like a big baby. 😂
I’ve always been that way.
I guess that’s just how God made me.
I’ve never enjoyed gossip.
I’ve never been able to look at someone who’s struggling and immediately judge them.
Instead…
I wonder…
“What happened?”
Maybe that’s because I know what it’s feels like to fight battles no one else could see.
I’ve learned that every person has a story.
Some stories are filled with joy.
Some are filled with heartbreak.
Most are a little of both.
Mine certainly is.
Every struggle I’ve faced has changed me.
Not always in ways I wanted…
But in ways I needed.
It taught me compassion.
It taught me grace.
It taught me resilience.
It taught me that people are so much more than the worst day of their lives.
No…
I’m not where I thought I’d be at 58.
But I’m not ashamed of the woman I am.
Because every chapter…
The beautiful ones…
The painful ones…
The victories…
The disappointments…
They all helped shape me.
And if I had the chance to erase those chapters…
I wouldn’t.
Because they didn’t just change my life…
They made me.
”— Just a woman who’s still becoming.”

If my story reminded you of your own, I’d love to hear from you. Share your story in the comments, or send this to someone who might need it today. We all carry chapters we rarely talk about. Maybe today, by sharing them, we can help someone feel a little less alone… and a little lighter. ❤️#tell me your story #Lemon8 #over50 #unapologetic #healing
