GET OUT OF A READING SLUMP !!

3 books that got me out of a reading slump!! I read these so quickly and they are some of my favorite reads!!

1) Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez

Romance with witty banter and a “fake dating” trope. She’s a travel nurse who meets the MMC through Reddit… The development of the relationship between the characters and their personal lives is great!!

2) Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

A romantasy that’s the first in the Empyrean series. It’s like if Divergent met Throne of Glass, so many great scenes and hidden meanings/plots. I love this series and this book is so so good!!

🖤🗡️⚡️🐉🏰💫🔥

3) Beach Read by Emily Henry

A romance where two authors meet in a lake community and challenge each other to write the opposite of what they usually would. The first EH book I read, and now I’ve read everything she’s written!!

... Read moreHey bookworms! Have you and your partner ever thought about diving into a book together? Or maybe one of you is in a reading slump, and you're looking for a shared activity to spice things up? Reading as a couple isn't just about turning pages; it's a fantastic way to connect, spark conversation, and even learn more about each other's perspectives. It can sometimes feel tricky finding a book both of you will love, especially if your tastes differ. But trust me, the hunt is part of the fun! While my original post focused on books that pulled me out of my own slump, the romance genre, which I touched on with authors like Abby Jimenez and Emily Henry, is often a fantastic starting point for couples. Books with witty banter, engaging relationships, and emotional depth, much like those I mentioned, can spark amazing conversations. Think 'fake dating' tropes or stories of characters navigating complex feelings – they offer a safe space to discuss relationship dynamics and even learn something about your own partnership, all within the world of fiction. But don't box yourselves in! 'Romantasy' series, like the one by Rebecca Yarros that totally captivated me, can be an epic journey for two. Imagine discussing dragons, magic, and intense relationships together – it's like a shared adventure! It's not just about the love story; it's about the entire world-building and character arcs that you can both get lost in and discuss for hours. There are so many ways to enjoy 'books to read as a couple.' One of my favorite ways to connect is reading aloud to each other, even for just 15 minutes before bed. Or, treat it like your own mini-book club! Read separately but set times to discuss chapters or themes. It's truly amazing how a book can open up new avenues for conversation. For long drives or cozy evenings, an audiobook can be a wonderful shared experience too. Remember, the goal isn't to force it, but to find joy in reading together. Maybe you both love a good mystery, or perhaps you'd enjoy a gripping thriller for that shared suspense. Even non-fiction, if it's a topic you're both passionate about, can be incredibly bonding. So, if you're looking for 'books to read as a couple' to get out of a reading slump or just to deepen your connection, pick a book, grab your partner, and start your next shared adventure. Happy reading!
