That’s until I discovered this incredible, natural DIY remedy right in my kitchen: onion and clove water! I honestly can't believe how much new growth I've seen since I started using it. My edges feel so much stronger, and I’m seeing way less hair in my brush. Making this treatment might sound a little unusual with onions, but trust me, the benefits are worth it, and the smell isn't as bad as you might think once it's diluted or combined with other things (I'll share a tip on that!). Here's my step-by-step guide on how I prepare my onion and clove water for maximum hair growth and to protect those delicate edges: Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients and Boil Them Down First things first, I grab one medium-sized onion – any type works, but I usually go for a yellow or red one – and about 4-5 whole cloves. I roughly chop the onion (no need to be fancy here!) and toss it into a small pot. Then, I add the cloves right in. Next, I pour in about 2-3 cups of water, just enough to fully cover all the ingredients. I bring this mixture to a rolling boil over medium heat and then reduce it to a simmer. You’ll want to let it simmer gently until the onion pieces become beautifully tender, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes. This boiling process is key because it helps to extract all the potent, beneficial compounds from both the onion and the cloves directly into the water. The boiled clove water is packed with antioxidants, and the onion water is incredibly rich in sulfur, which is known for stimulating dormant hair follicles and improving circulation – truly amazing for strengthening strands!
