Bump Date

Today marks 26+4 weeks pregnant!!! So let’s give a little bump date shall we?

🎀Baby girl moves all day everyday for the most part, she is the most active at night. (If this is an indication on her sleep schedule when she is here, send help 😂)

🎀 She absolutely loves when her big brother talks to her and rubs my belly.

🎀I’m getting huge, literally I don’t know where she’s going to go with this much time left in my pregnancy.

🎀 I failed not my 1 hour glucose test but also my 3 hour glucose test. So I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. (I had it when I was pregnant with my son as well)

🎀I don’t sleep

🎀Nesting is in full swing, at this point I could burn my whole house down and it still wouldn’t be clean enough😂

🎀 I have killer round ligament pain I have since about 10 weeks pregnant.

🎀 With all this being said baby girl is growing and thriving and I’m so blessed to be her mommy.

One minute you're marveling at your growing baby bump, the next you're grappling with new challenges. It's totally normal to feel like you're 'getting huge' around this time – our bodies are doing incredible work! For many of us, the pregnancy bump 26 weeks mark is when it really starts to pop, and people can no longer mistake it for just a big lunch! If you're a pregnant woman experiencing similar feelings, you're definitely not alone. Dealing with gestational diabetes (GD) for the second time, as mentioned in the original post, is incredibly tough. I've been there, or know friends who have, and it's a huge mental and physical load. What helped me manage my GD was really leaning into a low-carb, high-protein diet, focusing on whole, unprocessed foods. Think lots of leafy greens, lean meats, and healthy fats. Small, frequent meals can help keep blood sugar stable. And don't underestimate the power of a short walk after meals – even just 10-15 minutes can make a noticeable difference in your numbers. It’s also important to remember that it’s not your fault; GD happens to many pregnant women, and you're doing amazing by managing it for your baby's health. Then there's the round ligament pain! Oh my goodness, it can feel like a sharp stab or a dull ache, especially when you sneeze, cough, or change positions quickly. I found that a good maternity support belt was a lifesaver, especially during walks or prolonged standing. Gentle stretching, prenatal yoga, and even just lying down on your side with a pillow between your knees can offer some relief. Applying a warm compress (not hot!) to the area can also sometimes help. It's a common complaint around the 26-week baby bump stage and beyond, so know you're not alone in feeling it. And nesting? Absolutely! Around 26+4 weeks, that urge to organize and clean can hit hard. It’s our primal instinct kicking in! Instead of trying to burn the house down (haha!), I tried to channel that energy into productive tasks. Maybe focus on one room at a time, or make a checklist of smaller, manageable tasks. Washing baby clothes, organizing the nursery, or even meal prepping for postpartum can be hugely satisfying. Just remember not to overdo it, especially with that round ligament pain! Knowing what's happening with your little one can also be so reassuring. Around 27 weeks pregnant, babies are developing rapidly. Their lungs are maturing, and their brains are becoming more complex. They're practicing breathing movements, and their eyes can open and close. It's amazing to think about all the growth happening inside that belly. Keeping track of movements, like the original post mentioned about her active baby girl, is also really important and a sweet way to connect with them. Every pregnancy journey is unique, but sharing these experiences, like this bump update, makes us all feel a little more connected and less alone. Hang in there, mama – you're doing great!
