Single Mom Chapter
Today, I’m sharing something that’s both heartbreaking and hopeful…
I’m officially starting my journey as a single mom.
Right now, I’m still living with my ex while I work on building a new life for myself and my kids. It’s not where I imagined I’d be, but it’s where my fresh start begins.
I’m choosing to be open about this chapter because I know I’m not the only one who’s had to start over from scratch. There will be hard days, healing days, victories, setbacks, apartment hunting, decorating a place that finally feels like home, budgeting, rebuilding, and learning who I am again.
I want to take you all along on this journey—the real, unfiltered version of starting over.
I also created an Amazon wishlist for my future apartment. If anyone feels led to help us as we build our new home, it would truly mean the world to me. But even if you can’t, your encouragement, prayers, follows, and support are more than enough.
Here’s to healing, new beginnings, and creating a peaceful home filled with love. 🤍

Being a single mom has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life, and I want to share some personal insights that might help others in similar situations. Living with my ex while co-parenting has taught me a lot about boundaries, communication, and patience. Although it’s not the ideal setup, it gives me time to stabilize financially and emotionally before moving into my own place. During this phase, it’s essential to stay organized with a budget and set small goals, such as saving for security deposits or furnishing essentials gradually. Apartment hunting as a single mom brings its own challenges—finding a safe neighborhood, proximity to schools and workplaces, and managing costs on a single income requires patience and flexibility. I found that making a wishlist helped me prioritize what was really needed versus what was nice to have. This mindset makes the process less overwhelming. Decorating a new apartment to make it feel like home is a healing ritual in itself. I chose cozy, calming colors and items that bring joy and comfort, helping both me and my kids feel secure in our new space. Building this environment is a symbol of reclaiming my identity and independence. Another important aspect is self-care and emotional healing. Joining support groups and being open about my journey helped me realize I am not alone. Sharing struggles and victories with others going through similar changes can be empowering and comforting. Lastly, I want to highlight the strength found in asking for help. Whether it's emotional support, advice, or even assistance through an Amazon wishlist, opening up to kindness creates a network of love essential during times of rebuilding. For any single mom starting over, remember that every setback is an opportunity to grow, and every small step forward is a victory worth celebrating.
