Hello Zesties, Here am I with an episode of POV Food review (*˘︶˘*).。*♡ ~ Recently I went to Phuket Thailand for the first time and it's my honest review (not sponsored) (◕દ◕)
The place quite convenient if you heading to old town Phuket and walk around
I went there alone on the last day of my trip so I didn't order a lot since I'm a light eater (~ ̄³ ̄)~ I even order a kid size dish but still can't finish . Would recommend to bring more friends to try this . There's 2 menu the one with the bigger size is recommended by them and the smaller one is everything depends if you don't want to see the recommend one's .The menu had a lot of varieties which 🫣 hard for me to choose since I want to try everything
Here's a few items I ate :
⏩ Deep fried chicken wing
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Highly addictive even tho the wings are a bit small and the sauce is abit spicy for me
⏩ Corn Fritters
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐:
Interesting combination but comes out crunchy and sweet from the corn and you can dip the thai sweet chilli sauce for a hint of spicy
⏩Stir Fried Noodles with pickled squid , chicken and egg (kids menu )
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Portion quite big like 1 adult meal very tasty but the chicken is too dry for me and I can't taste any pickled squid . not so sure is the menu translate wrongly or they forgot to add it
Overall I would definitely go back again to try others in the menu

Read moreVisiting Phuket offers a unique opportunity to explore authentic Thai cuisine in vibrant settings like Tu Kab Khao Restaurant, known for its vintage style and convenient location in Old Town Phuket. When trying new dishes, especially at places with diverse menus, it's great to consider sharing multiple smaller size dishes with friends to get the full experience without feeling overwhelmed, just as I did when ordering a kid-sized stir-fried noodle meal that was quite filling but lacked the expected pickled squid flavor.
One standout dish was the deep fried chicken wings, which, despite their small size, delivered a highly addictive taste with a spicy sauce that I personally found a bit intense but perfectly complementing the crunchiness. Another favorite was the corn fritters—these combined sweetness and crunch with a Thai sweet chili dipping sauce that added a pleasant spicy hint and richness, a great example of Thai flavor balance.
For those visiting Tu Kab Khao, the restaurant also offers a full menu with green curry shrimp and other classic Thai choices. From my experience, the variety is broad, so it helps to ask for recommendations or go for the bigger recommended portion sizes to fully enjoy the authentic tastes and textures unique to Phuket. Also, it's important to respect the restaurant policy such as not bringing outside food or drinks to preserve the quality and hygiene standards.
Overall, my visit confirmed that Tu Kab Khao holds potential Michelin-level qualities. Its traditional and vintage ambiance adds to the dining experience, making it worth a revisit for any foodie exploring Phuket. Just remember to bring friends along to sample more dishes and share the rich Thai culinary adventure.
