Bank representative FRAUD calls

Someone from UOB (Michael Peng) just called me claim that I just bought something in Harvey Norman using credit card that I never apply at UOB Raffles Place.

And he said I must make a report by 2pm today. So, he helps to send me a link to transfer me to the police identity fraud person. I ended the call because I felt very suspicious.

刚才有个自称是大华银行(UOB)的人(Michael

Peng)打电话给我,说我用一张我从未在大华银行莱佛士坊分行申请过的信用卡在Harvey Norman

买了东西。

他说我必须在今天下午2点前报案。然后,他发给我一个链接,说是要转接到警方的身份盗窃调查部门。我感觉很可疑,就挂断了电话。

... Read moreRecently, I experienced a scam call impersonating a UOB bank representative, which is becoming more frequent. The caller claimed I had made a hefty purchase at Harvey Norman using a credit card I never applied for. They even sent a link directing me to what they said was the police's identity fraud department. From my research, legitimate UOB fraud hotlines do not operate this way and never pressure customers for immediate action via suspicious links. If you receive such calls, always verify by directly contacting UOB through their official 24/7 fraud hotline. Never click on unknown links or provide personal information to unsolicited callers. Additionally, keep an eye out for red flags such as urgent threats, mismatched caller details, or requests that bypass normal bank procedures. I also found that scammers sometimes use realistic-sounding names and employee numbers to appear credible. The fraudulent caller I received identified themselves as Michael Peng from UOB Raffles Place, but this was easily disproved. To protect yourself, cross-check any caller’s identity through official bank channels. Sharing this experience can help you and others avoid falling victim to similar fraudulent schemes involving impersonation and fake transaction alerts. Stay cautious and report any suspicious activity immediately to your bank and local authorities.

诈骗越来越难防,就算他不可疑最好挂了打给UOB客服确认是真先。
