Goodbye Locs…

I started my loc journey in July 2024, I made it to 5 1/2 months of being loc’d and it had its ups and downs. I had a love hate relationship with my locs but my hair grew tremendously over the course of 5 months.

Last week, I had a little voice in my ear, idk if it was God giving me a sign, but they told me to comb out my locs. And I immediately questioned why because they were so convenient and I know combing them out would be a PAIN. And I stopped going to my Loctician and doing my own retwist when I learned how. Saved a lot of money. Then I sat on it for the rest of the day or 2 and weighed out my reasons why I should…

When I started my loc journey, I went through so many people (males) telling me to get them and I would look so “fire”. I always told myself I would do it at my own time when I’m ready to make that commitment because I don’t like wasting peoples time when locs are time consuming to do. But when I started them, I was talking so a certain someone and now that relationship is dead come December 2024. So I felt like they played a part in my loc journey and I felt the attachment with them still through them.

Maybe I’ll come back to them when I get bored again with my hair but I LOVE my natural hair so idk if that’s a possibility 😂. As of 01/18/25 at 9am I only have 3 small rows left of locs and plan to finish combing them out after work. I will be posting my dying and cutting process later today or early tomorrow!!!
