Living Set Apart: Faith in Action✨✝️

🚨Long post, but please read. ☺️

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on my walk with Christ and the changes I need to make to truly live out my faith. Too often, we call ourselves Christians but don’t fully commit to following Jesus—the one true example. When I look at the devotion of practicing Muslims I personally know, I see a level of commitment that challenges me to examine my own.

As Christians, we are called to be set apart (Romans 12:2), but too many people turn away from Christ because of bad experiences with those who claim His name but don’t reflect His love.🫰🏾 Phew, that’s a word!!

But let me ask—do we give up on relationships after one bad experience? NO! We try a new relationship. Do we stop eating out after one bad restaurant? OF COURSE NOT! We go to a new restaurant or different location. The same applies to faith. Don’t give up on Jesus, THE Church (not A church) all because of bad representations.

⚠️ Jesus Christ is NOT defined by the failures of His followers. 🕊️ Don’t pin it on him.

So here’s what I’ve been focusing on to grow closer to God:

✨ Waiting for peace before making decisions & listening for the Holy Spirit’s voice

➡️ I start my day by thanking God for waking me up and listening for His guidance before making decisions.

📖 John 10:27 – "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."

✨ Being mindful of what I watch, read, and listen to

➡️ What I consume affects my spirit, so I guard my heart and mind against anything that invites negativity or distracts me from God.

📖 Philippians 4:8 – "Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things."

✨ Praying daily for forgiveness & obedience

➡️ I ask God to cleanse my heart, forgive my shortcomings, and guide me in obedience to His will.

📖 1 John 1:9 – "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

✨ Limiting social media & using my time more meaningfully

➡️ Instead of endless scrolling, I focus on studying God’s Word, memorizing scripture, and engaging in faith-based activities.

📖 Ephesians 5:16 – "Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil."

✨ Fact-checking my actions with God’s Word

➡️ I don’t want to live based on personal opinions but by aligning my actions with scripture.

📖 Psalm 119:105 – "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."

✨ Planting seeds & being a light for His Kingdom

➡️ I strive to reflect Christ in my daily life so that others may see Him through me.

📖 Matthew 5:16 – "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

✨ Treating my body as a temple

➡️ I honor God by taking care of my body—staying hydrated, eating nourishing foods, and avoiding things that harm me.

📖 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 – "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."

I’m not perfect, but I desire to walk in obedience and deepen my faith each day. What’s something you’ve changed or are working on in your walk with God? Let’s grow together. ⬇️✨ #FaithWalk #SetApart #BuildingGodsKingdom #christianhabits #christianjourney

... Read moreIn a world filled with distractions, living a life rooted in faith requires intentional commitment. It’s essential to regularly evaluate our behaviors and align them with biblical principles. The call to be 'set apart' as Christians demands that we examine not only our faith but also how we express that faith in our interactions with others. By embracing practices such as daily prayer, scripture meditation, and fostering positive habits, we can develop a deeper connection with God. Consistent study of the Bible, as emphasized in Joshua 1:8, helps us maintain focus on His teachings. As we meditate on His word, we begin to reflect His will in all areas of our lives. Moreover, accountability within our communities encourages growth and consistency in our spiritual journeys. Engaging with fellow believers helps provide support during challenging times and aids in our collective mission to embody Christ’s teachings. In addition to personal and communal efforts, it’s crucial to address the impact of our habits, such as media consumption and social interactions. Philippians 4:8 implores us to dwell on what is true and praiseworthy; thus, we should selectively consume influences that build our faith rather than detract from it. Lastly, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, as noted in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Treating it as such means prioritizing health and wellness while making conscious decisions about what we allow ourselves to experience. Living set apart calls us to holistic faith that actively engages every part of our being—mind, body, and spirit—in glorifying God.

I always say the bad experiences & the bad relationships & the bad happenings are just as powerful If not more powerful than the good ones. Don’t ever question your faith in your ability to be Christian because of a bad experience. Use it to make yourself stronger. And and to know what not to do next time.
