Hiking with my pug 🥰

Yesterday a couple of friends and I went on a hike to swim in the river. I brought my dog along and since he is 10 years old and it was pretty warm out I decided to carry him on the way up.

When we got to our destination he ate apples and banana with us and once we started swimming he took a nap on my friend’s clothes even tho she had set up a towel for him to lay on.

On the way back, my friend carried him 🥰

Grateful to have such sweet and considerate friends who care for my dog, my baby, just as much as I do 🥹

Whether you’re navigating a challenging trail or simply enjoying nature, it’s crucial to consider your dog's needs, especially for older pets like my 10-year-old pug. Always bring plenty of water for your dog, as staying hydrated is key during warm weather hikes. Make sure to take breaks, allowing them to rest, and consider carrying them if the hike becomes too strenuous. Offering healthy snacks like apples and bananas, as I did, can keep their energy up and make the adventure enjoyable. As you explore the trails, look for dog-friendly locations that allow pets to join in on the fun safely. To enhance your experience, consider packing a lightweight pet carrier for comfortable transport, and always ensure your dog is on a leash to protect local wildlife and other hikers. Overall, hiking with a pug or any pet can strengthen your bond and create joyful memories. So, grab your hiking shoes, your furry friend, and hit the trails for a fun-filled outdoor day!
