Travelling the world through my taste buds 🌏 First Bites: Vietnamese food🇻🇳

📍 Finally tried this popular Vietnamese spot Co Chung Vietnamese Restaurant Plaza Singapura - Authentic Taste of Vietnam and I get why it’s always packed 👀

👉🏻 Ordered:

• BBQ platter

• Fresh spring rolls

• Dry vermicelli with grilled pork

• Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup)

💭 First impressions/Thoughts:

Generous portions, lots of protein + veggies, and sauces that really elevate everything!!

👍🏻 BBQ platter (STAR ⭐):

Super worth with generous portion for 2 pax!

Includes pork skewers, ribs, chicken, beef in betel leaves & nem nuong.

Everything was flavourful and nicely grilled

• Nem nuong (lemongrass pork) = super fragrant, our favourite 🤤

• Beef in betel leaves = unique, slightly herby (subjective but I liked it)

• Pork ribs = nicely charred, tender enough, very satisfying

Comes with fresh veg + multiple sauces that really elevate the flavours

Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

👍🏻 Fresh spring rolls:

Light, refreshing, simple but always hits the spot!

Nice balance to the heavier dishes.

Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.8/5

👍🏻 Dry vermicelli with grilled pork:

Very aesthetically pleasing 👀

Generous amount of lean pork that were well-marinated and tender!

Pairs well with vermicelli + chilli for extra kick😋

Only gripe was the fried shallots (which i personally don’t eat)

Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

👍🏻 Bun Bo Hue:

Hearty and comforting~

Soup was fragrant, not overly salty/MSG-heavy

Comes with good amount of beef + pork!

Not very spicy, more mild than expected.

Ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

💫 Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

Very satisfying meal that has great balance of flavours, portions and variety!!

Would definitely come back when the craves for Vietnamese food hits again! 😄😄

✨Disclaimer: this is solely my personal opinion based on my tastebuds, expectations and food experiences so don’t come at me! Do not quote me on anything because one man’s meat is another man’s poison✌🏻

... Read moreVisiting Co Chung at Plaza Singapura gave me a wonderful introduction to authentic Vietnamese cuisine beyond the usual pho and banh mi. The BBQ platter stood out with its perfectly grilled pork skewers, ribs, beef in betel leaves, and nem nuong, each bite offering a burst of fragrant, herby, and smoky flavors that pleasantly surprised me. What I especially appreciated was how the fresh spring rolls served as a light palate cleanser between the heavier dishes, balancing the meal beautifully. The dry vermicelli with grilled pork was not only visually appealing but packed with tender, well-marinated pork and a delightful chili kick that enhanced the whole experience. While I personally avoid fried shallots, the dish was enjoyable overall. The Bun Bo Hue, though milder than I expected, was still hearty with a fragrant and comforting broth that felt nourishing without overwhelming saltiness or artificial taste. For those who prefer spicier soup, you might wish to ask for extra heat. If you’re a fan of Vietnamese food or curious to explore, Co Chung offers a well-rounded menu with generous portions and a variety of robust flavors. Plus, the sauces included really elevate every dish. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to satisfy my Vietnamese food cravings. Hope this helps fellow foodies planning a visit! TIP: Don’t miss the peanut sauce served with the fresh spring rolls – it truly enhances the whole flavor profile and adds an authentic touch to your meal.

🥰 Yummy Bun Cha in SG
The meat were charred and Smokey. The noodle dip was tangy and sour, just enough to balance out the meat ball, nicely charred pork slices and spring rolls. Great Buncha, will come back again. They have sets that include their Vietnamese coffee. The lady boss seems to be Vietnamese 🇻🇳 $11.
