Tips on trying aerial silks for the first time?

Putting my classpass credits to use this week by trying out new things I normally wouldn't 🤭 I went for the weekday panggang timing so the class was quite small (~5 people) which was good as the instructor went around to guide and correct our poses!! Overall felt very safe and beginner friendly (crash mat was set up below just in case!!)

We started out with some stretches and arm warm ups before moving into tricks on the silks, there was also some time to take videos while doing the poses 🥰 While i don't think this class is cardio intensive, I do think a little bit if arm strength is needed especially to pull yourself up while on the silks 😥

✨Activity: Silks 1

💰Price: 8 Credits = ~$18

🤔Would go again? Yes!!

... Read moreTrying aerial silks for the first time can be a thrilling and unique fitness experience. From my personal experience, starting with a small, beginner-friendly class greatly enhances comfort and learning. The instructors genuinely make a difference by offering hands-on corrections and personalized guidance. You’ll begin with ample warm-ups focusing on stretches and arm muscles, which are crucial since aerial silks demand a good amount of upper body strength to pull yourself up and hold poses. Even though the class might not be extremely cardio-intensive, don’t underestimate the physical challenge. Building arm strength over time helps improve your confidence and ability on the silks. Safety measures like crash mats provide peace of mind, making it less intimidating to try advanced moves. It’s also fun to capture your progress on video, which helps you see your form and improvements. Many aerial silk classes, including those offered through platforms like ClassPass, strike a balance between creativity and fitness. They often include a mix of yoga, stretching, and aerial techniques, making each session varied and engaging. For about 8 credits (roughly $18), you get access to an exciting workout that strengthens your body while also enhancing flexibility and coordination. If you’re contemplating trying aerial silks, consider choosing a smaller class setting where you’ll receive more personalized coaching. Also, pay attention to your body’s signals to avoid strain. Gradually, you’ll notice improved muscle tone and a boost in confidence. Many find themselves eager to book the next class because the sense of achievement and fun aerial poses keep things exciting. In summary, aerial silks offer a safe, supportive, and enjoyable fitness experience perfect for beginners ready to embrace a new challenge. With core strength building, flexibility improvements, and professional instruction, it’s worth giving it a try if you enjoy unique workouts that push your limits creatively.
