I decided to challenge myself to make full use of my weekends & decided to come up w a series - Cel’s Weekend Plans 😇 (sorry the name is pretty lame but bear with me or comment some names pls).
Honestly this was pretty random but I thought why not document my weekends since my boyfie has started work recently & now I’m the one planning the dates (he’s too bz w work but that’s fine I have his $ hehe)
For today’s adventure - we tried DIY pancake making workshop Petit Fours by Style Palate and honestly a 10/10 date idea. It’s located at Hougang/ Kovan, abit ulu but there’s some other eateries nearby~
Also they’re having a promotion now at $24.88 for 2 pax - which is damn worth ~$13/pax 😛 It comes with 3 bottles of pancake batter, 3 sauces & 3 toppings. The sauces & toppings ABIT smoll (that’s my only complaint 😢)
My Reccos:
⭐️ Pick the plain & matcha batter & skip the strawberry one (taste like medicine 😭)
⭐️ Start w low heat when drawing then crack the heat higher to cook faster hehe
⭐️ Try adding the toppings inside the pancake - I added biscoff while the batter was cooking & I loved the crunch 🤣
P.S they also have a bento cake decorating workshop too 🥳 Will be back to try that one hehe
... Read moreIf you’re new to pancake art or looking for a cozy date idea in Singapore, the DIY Pancake Workshop at Petit Fours by Style Palate is a great choice. Besides the three batter flavors they offer—vanilla, matcha, and strawberry—I highly recommend skipping the strawberry because it tastes quite medicinal. The plain and matcha batters were delightful and paired well with the complementary sauces like maple syrup and honey.
The workshop includes 3 bottles of batter, 3 sauces, and 3 toppings, which felt a bit small in quantity but enough for a fun session. One of my favorite tips is to add crunchy toppings like Biscoff inside the pancake batter while cooking to get a texture contrast—this was a game changer for me! Also, start cooking on low heat when shaping your pancakes, then turn up the heat slightly to cook faster without burning.
Another highlight is the location itself, tucked away in Hougang/Kovan with some nice eateries nearby, making it perfect for a day out. Petit Fours also offers other workshops like bento cake decorating, which I’m excited to try soon.
Keep in mind that there’s a 1-hour time limit for the session, so plan to be a bit quick but have fun experimenting with pancake art. The prices are very reasonable, especially with their current promotion around $24.88 for two. Plus, you get complementary drinks like Lychee Oolong tea which adds to the relaxing vibes.
Whether you want a creative date or a casual weekend activity, this pancake DIY workshop makes it easy and enjoyable to unleash your artistic side while bonding over tasty treats. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique Singapore date or a beginner-friendly pancake art experience.
