Honestly we were getting so tired of the usual food options — cafes, KBBQ, sushi… you know the drill 😭. So when my boyf suggested this @Song Gye Ok Singapore (Telok Ayer) | Korean Grilled Chicken Specialty Restaurant , I was like OH? 👀
I remember walking past it in Telok Ayer so many times and the queue was ALWAYS long, so we finally took the chance and queued. Apparently it’s the first ever chicken specialised kbbq 🫣
We waited around 1 hour and got seated at about 8.30pm on a Friday night. They were super kind to even give out bottled water for people in the queue 🙌🏼
🍗 What we ordered
✨ Signature Grilled Set ($68) — 5⭐️/5⭐️
Super interesting concept because they’ll personally grill everything for you tableside. Portions are enough for 2 people, and the variety of cuts made it really fun to try. The chicken breast was shockingly not dry at all 😮💨 and they serve many different house-made sauces to pair with the meat.
✨ Bibim Noodles ($22) — 4⭐️/5⭐️
Very flavourful and had lots of liao, but portion was a bit small for the price ngl. But! They noticed we still had leftover sauce and kindly gave us free rice 🤪
✨ Drinks
The beer was okay, but the Earl Grey Highball was super pleasant and refreshing 🍋✨

Honestly a great spot if you’re bored of the usual food scene and want something new.
We’ll definitely be back… if the queue gets shorter LOL.

Watching the staff grill and serve the meat tableside was a unique touch that adds to the dining experience. 3. Don’t miss the bibim noodles; although smaller in portion at $22, they’re packed with flavors. If you end up with leftover sauce, they’re generous with giving complimentary rice to enjoy it fully. 4. For drinks, the Earl Grey Highball was particularly refreshing and paired well with the grilled chicken. 5. One highlight you shouldn’t overlook is their courtesy during the wait—they hand out bottled water, which was much appreciated during the long queue. Overall, Song Gye Ok offers a fresh take on Korean BBQ with a focus on chicken, perfect if you want to break away from typical KBBQ joints. Just be prepared for the popular demand and enjoy the flavorful journey when you get seated!
