June Pumping Recap 🍼
i use the app Pump Log to keep track of all of my pump sessions and love to see the stats!
i thought i’d share my first full month of building my breastmilk supply.
i pump 5-7 times a day and breastfeed 1-2 times if i’m able to.
Using the Pump Log app has truly transformed the way I manage my breastfeeding and pumping routine. Tracking every session allows me to see not just the quantity but also the consistency of my milk supply over time. For example, in June, I pumped 941 ounces across 171 sessions, which added up to 56 hours spent pumping. Maintaining such a schedule with 5-7 pumping sessions daily paired with breastfeeding 1-2 times really helped in steadily increasing my supply. One surprising insight was how much milk I could pump in a single day — a peak of 49 ounces! It felt rewarding to see these tangible results, especially knowing that this saved me from purchasing an equivalent of $1138 worth of formula like Kendamil. Building a freezer stash of 256 ounces also gave me peace of mind, providing a buffer for busy or unpredictable days. From my experience, consistency is key. Sticking to a routine and tracking progress can boost confidence for any mom working to maintain or increase milk production. I'd recommend any pumping mom to give a tracking app a try — it not only helps set goals but also motivates you by visualizing the progress you might otherwise overlook. Plus, the data can be useful to share with healthcare providers if you ever need extra support. Overall, combining breastfeeding and pumping can be challenging, but with the right tools and persistence, it’s definitely achievable and rewarding. This journey has deepened my appreciation for the effort it takes to provide breastmilk, and I hope sharing these stats encourages others to keep going, knowing the hard work pays off.
