How I came back to the Bible
I spent the last few months struggling to read my Bible. Every time I thought about opening my Bible, I’d immediately be tempted with sin. I was constantly anxious about reading the Bible, and I knew I needed to, and yet I couldn’t get myself to do it.
This caused a domino affect. I wasn’t sleeping well (nightmares, random spurts of waking up, waking up in cold or hot sweats), I was much more anxious than normal (daily panic attacks, bursts of anger, uncontrollable worry), my depression kicked into drive head on. I was justifying sin. I wasn’t praying regularly. And these were just a few things I’d noticed.
After a few months of struggling, I sat in my bedroom and was scrolling on my phone aimlessly when I stumbled upon @Daily Grace Co. podcast. I hadn’t listened in since August - but I put it on. And then I remembered they had a podcast for reading the Bible in a Year. So - I checked it out because what did I have to lose?
But to my surprise, it was just what I needed to get back into the Bible. The Bible never changed, and neither did God, but I did. I put my trust fully into Christ, and I now can see the beauty of The Story from the beginning. I had no idea I even needed that.
Everybody’s story is different, everybody needs something different to come back to Jesus, but whatever you do, just remember that He’s out there waiting for you and He loves you so much more than anybody can ever comprehend.
