would you queue 1 HOUR for this? 🤡

we headed down to yo-chi at 11:20pm on a saturday night and the queue was still insane. like… 2 weeks into their SG launch and people are still willingly standing in line late at night?! of course i had to see what the hype was about.

out of their 8 flavours, i only managed to try acai, signature tart, strawberry cream, and mango. here’s my honest take:

🍇 acai — tasted exactly like how you’d imagine a soft serve acai to taste. nothing bad at all, but nothing groundbreaking either. if you’re an acai lover, this is a safe bet.

🥭 mango — sweet and sour, kinda like a creamy sour mango candy. i usually love sour things, but this was just a little too tart for me. definitely unique, but not my top pick.

🍋 signature tart [best seller] — i get why this is their signature. this was so good. if i had to compare this to other froyo brands in SG [like llaollao or yole], this would be the flavour to benchmark. extra creamy, sweet, tart, with a hint of lemon… lowkey tasted like a soft serve lemon cheesecake yogurt 🤤 i’m a sucker for desserts, and this honestly lived up to the hype 🤓

🍓 strawberry cream [my fave!!!] – my ultimate winner of the night 🩷 i would actually stand through the crowd again just for this flavour. it tasted like a strawberry milk yogurt soft serve on steroids and i love this so much. but full disclosure, i’m a strawberry girlie so i might be biased 🍓✨🍰 next time, i’m definitely getting it topped with their strawberry mochi [still crying that i missed out on this topping]

✨ honourable mentions:

• brownie + sauce of your choice → to die for, but ngl, it gets jelak pretty fast. best to share!!

• honey roasted cashews → loved this because it’s rare to see such a topping in sg. usually it’s just mixed nuts, so this felt bougie 🤤

• baby mochis → biggest regret not getting them 😭 if you love mochi, this is the one topping you cannot skip 🥲

• cookie dough → i'm not the biggest fan of cookie dough [love the dough but hate the chocolate chips, don't come @ me 😭], but the dough is quite fire so if you love cookie dough, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!

💸 the damage? i paid $14.09 with the 20% voucher. pricey for froyo tbh, but you do the math [get the 1 time 20% voucher by downloading the yo-chi app!! the staff there will usually guide you 🫶🏻] 👀

⭐️ my rating:

price: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

if they had my fav pistachio sauce, this would be an instant 5/5 🩷

overall, do i get the hype? yes. is it actually good? HELL YEAH. as a froyo addict, i loved it. but to my partner, who’s always just along for the ride, said he’d probably only come back when the crowd dies down. so.. would i queue more than an hour for this? probably not but i'll definitely be back 😮‍💨

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to Yo-Chi in Singapore, here are some extra tips from my experience to make your trip smoother: 1. Timing: Even though the official closing time is 11:30pm, I saw queues well past that. If you want to avoid the long wait, consider going earlier in the evening or on weekdays. The hype seems to maintain crowds late at night during weekends. 2. Ordering Strategy: With eight flavors on the menu, prioritize trying unique ones like the signature tart or strawberry cream—the latter was my personal favorite! Also, don't miss out on toppings like honey roasted cashews or baby mochi for an elevated froyo experience. 3. Budget: Froyo here can be a bit pricey, especially with premium toppings. I used a 20% off voucher from their app, which really helped. Definitely download the app before your visit. 4. Sharing: The brownie topping is delicious but rich, so it's better shared to avoid it becoming too overwhelming. 5. Closing Time and Queue: Given the crowd at closing, be prepared for some wait time if you come late. The queue can snake around the venue, so patience is key. Overall, Yo-Chi offers a distinct froyo experience in Singapore with flavors and toppings that set it apart. Whether it’s worth queuing an hour depends on your patience and love for froyo. I wouldn’t queue that long again but will return for my favorite strawberry cream flavor and those heavenly toppings!

YES ABSOLUTELY We ordered at the kiosk at 8.10pm, and we were seated at 9.04pm. The broth was so good, and the owner was so so nice even though he was clearly very busy. #MyPOV
