the smart girl’s guide to physics classes🔭⭐️🧮
Physics is a super exciting topic, but can be very difficult to learn and do well in. I’m taking my third physics class this semester that focuses on electricity and magnetism! I’ve gotten A’s in all of my physics classes leading up to this point and have an A right now!
Here’s a list of tips that have helped me be successful in all my physics courses!!
1) make the most out of your lab periods!! labs are great because you get to physically see what’s happening and how all of the theorems you learn are applied. Labs also give you an extra opportunity to show that you really understand what you’re learning in lecture, you can talk with the teacher because of the smaller class size, and usually you get to work though extra problems with a group of people!! 👩🏻🔬👩🏻🔬
2) spend time in office hours and tutoring! talking through a problem with someone can help you see if you really understand what you’re doing and you can get corrections when needed! in my past physics classes, I always worked through my homework with a group of other girls in office hours, and we ended up with the best grades in the class😉
3) do a bunch of practice problems! You may know all of the formulas and theorems, but learning how to apply them is what’s most important! Do all of the problems your teacher gives you and write out explanations for each step. You can also find additional practice problems online. Work though problems often and until you can do them without any extra help📖✏️
hope these helped🫶🫶

To thrive in physics, focus on experiential learning and problem-solving skills. Participating actively in lab sessions enhances understanding, allowing students to visualize concepts better. Collaboration during office hours can foster deeper comprehension, as discussing problems with peers often leads to new insights. Regular practice is crucial, and utilizing online resources can provide additional exercises to sharpen your skills. Familiarize yourself with concepts such as electromagnetism and real-world applications to build intuition. Many successful students suggest connecting theories to everyday experiences to help retain knowledge. Additionally, utilizing visual aids during lectures can greatly enhance understanding. Stay proactive in seeking help; whether through study groups or tutoring, collaboration can significantly improve your performance in challenging subjects like physics. Ultimately, the key to mastering physics is persistence and curiosity. Stay engaged, ask questions, and don't hesitate to explore various resources available online to supplement your learning journey!
