Trader joe’s haul (as a broke college student)

hey college girlies✨

It’s finals week for me and I’m going to be super busy studying and won’t have a ton of time to cook this week. I had a quick grocery trip and got a few quick meals I could put together!

One of my fav meals is sourdough with hummus, tomato, and mozzarella! It is sooo good and you can eat it for every meal.

Ramen and salad kits are always a go to as well!

What are your fav finals week meals?

... Read moreHey everyone! Since we're all looking for easy ways to eat well without spending a fortune, especially during busy times like finals, I wanted to dive deeper into some of my Trader Joe's haul favorites. Those Trader Joe's salad kits are an absolute lifesaver! Seriously, if you haven't tried them, you're missing out. The Miso Crunch Chopped Salad Kit is a personal obsession – the dressing is amazing, and it has just the right amount of crunch with the wonton strips and almonds. It's packed with flavor and feels like a gourmet meal even when you're eating it between study sessions. I also grabbed the Sesame Crunch Chopped Salad Kit, which is another fantastic option if you love Asian-inspired flavors, often found alongside the popular Miso Crunch. They're so quick to throw together; just open the bag, mix, and you're good to go. For extra protein, I love to add some canned chicken or a hard-boiled egg. They’re perfect for adding a bit of fresh greens to your diet when cooking from scratch isn't an option, providing a balanced meal in minutes. Other great finds include the Pizza Ranch and Dill-icious Chopped kits for when you want to switch up the flavors. Beyond salads, Trader Joe's also has some fantastic noodle options for really quick meals. I often pick up their Knife Cut Style Noodles with Spicy Garlic Sesame Sauce. They cook in minutes, and the sauce is super flavorful, making it feel like a takeout meal without the cost. You can easily elevate this by tossing in some frozen edamame, shredded carrots, or even a fried egg to make it a more complete meal. These are ideal for those late-night cravings or when you just need something warm and comforting instantly after a long day of classes. The convenience these noodles offer is unmatched for a busy college schedule. When I do my college shopping haul at Trader Joe's, I always keep a few things in mind to make it as budget-friendly and efficient as possible. First, focus on versatile ingredients that can be combined in multiple ways, like that sourdough bread and hummus for easy sandwiches or snacks. Second, don't shy away from their amazing frozen aisle – it's a treasure trove of quick, affordable meals like their frozen rice, veggie burgers, or pre-cut vegetables that save precious prep time. And finally, prioritize those ready-to-eat items like the salad kits and pre-made soups. They save so much time and are surprisingly filling, keeping you fueled without much effort. It really helps to plan out a few meals in advance, so you know exactly what you need and don't overspend. Plus, their festive decorated bags often make the shopping experience a little more fun! Happy shopping, fellow students, and good luck with those finals!
